Today in RE, we were learning about sacred places. Sacred places can be anywhere, from in your house to in another country. Some sacred places are sacred for many people, like a church for Christians and a Mosque for Muslims. Some people’s special places are in there house like in a room on their own. Sacred places are places where you feel secure and safe. Religious places are often places of sanctuary, where the people that worship there feel safe and happy. In India, the Taj Mahal is a sacred place because the Sultan of India loved his wife so much that he erected a huge burial tomb for him (when he died) and his wife (Mumtaz Mahal) to sleep (dead) together in constant peace.
Sacred places are not just places of worship but places in your home. My sacred place is in front of my fish tank because I love my fish. A sacred place is anywhere, yours could be right around the corner!
Some places may not be sacred to you but anywhere, anything can be sacred to anyone.
